In aid of World Science Week, Charter hosted a ‘Learn with your Charter Child’ morning providing parents and carers the opportunity to join their children in school and take part in a STEM challenge.
Using ‘the Great Paper Caper’ by Oliver Jeffers as the basis of our morning, children and parents were tasked with designing and creating their very own Charter Airlines before embarking on a challenge to discover which paper airplane design would fly the furthest. Children showed an abundance of creativity in their designs and enjoyed setting their paper airplanes down our ‘Charter Runway’.
Throughout the morning, children also had the opportunity to create a ‘postcard of kindness’. This is an initiative close to the hearts of Charter School where postcards are drawn and written by children to send to residents of care homes. We hope the cards created at our Learn with your Charter Child morning bring smiles to many local residents.
