11.30 – 2.00pm
With all the rain and cold wind we have been having lately you may be forgiven for thinking that it is October. In fact summer is just around the corner and for the CSFA committee that can only mean one thing… the Summer Fete is nearly upon us!
The Summer Fete is by far and away the biggest fund raising event in the CSFA calendar. Last year the Summer Fete alone raised £2,047 and we would love to beat that this year. Mrs Flack has asked that money raised from the Summer Fete be used to take all the children to the pantomime at Christmas, which we think is a great idea. So that the Year 6s also see some benefit from this fundraising, we would like to use some of the money to do something for them too.
We hope to see all of you at the fete, but even if you can’t make it you can still help us to raise money by selling lots of raffle tickets to family and friends. We will be issuing raffle tickets after half term and every ticket sold will really help to boost our final total as, thanks to Martin Preater we will be able to have Barclays £ for £ matching again, which means that for every pound raised by the raffle, Barclays will give us another pound.
The tombola is another popular stall that raises a lot of money. We will be asking for tombola donations in return for a mufti day again this year, so please do give generously (you usually do!).
We have lots of ideas for stalls (loosely) based on the Olympics. So many ideas, in fact, that we have too many stalls and not enough committee members to run them! In order to make the Summer Fete as big as we would like, after half term we will be putting up a short list of stalls in each class in the hope that you will be able to put your name down to help run a stall for 15 minutes. We will even bribe you with a free cup of tea or coffee…
